G4G Provincial Blitz 2nd July Ballinrobe Newbies do us Proud

Ballinrobe Newbies do us proud: Our latest girls to join the Ballinrobe Ladies Football Club as part of Gaelic 4Girls 12 week programme participated in the G4G Provincial Blitz yesterday. What a day in the Centre of Excellence Knock. This was the first football match EVER for majority of our girls, and they really did themselves and the club proud. They are a lovely bunch of girls. Big thanks to all the parents and supporters who travelled on the day and also to our New Coaches, Lorna Lynch ( U10s Coach) & Noel Finlay ( U12s/U13s Coach,) and Róisín Collins (U10s/12s) who looked after the team’s on the Pitch.  WELL DONE ALL

Well done Róisín!

By Ann Cannon, PRO, Ballinrobe LGFA Our own Róisín Collins will be a ball girl when Leitrim take on Sligo in the TG4 Connacht Intermediate Championship Final this Sunday at 2:30pm in McHale Park Castlebar. Róisín has given so much to our girls & club since coming on board.  Helping with the start of our Pella League back in October, regular training sessions with both the U10’s and U12’s and most recently with our G4G campagin. She was invited by the LGFA Connacht, to take part on Sunday since she gave her time as a referee in an U11 Connacht Blitz at the end of May.

By Ann Cannon, PRO, Ballinrobe LGFA We would like to thank most sincerely all of the parents of our G4G young ladies who baked up a storm for us over the weekend for our very successful Cake Sale.  We were blown away by all the talented bakers out there. You all deserve praise for all of the lovely baked goodies that we had available for the cake sale that took place after both masses on Sunday last, June 26th, 2016. Thank you to the ladies committee members who baked, collected baked donations and assisted at the Cake Sale.  And, we can’t forget the young ladies who came along to help on the morning also. Above, our young helpers Below, just a sample of the amazing goodies we had on the day.

U12 Ladies Vs Kilmoremoy

By Ann Cannon, PRO Ballinrobe, LGFA Another great evenings football last Wed 15th June from our very talented U12 ladies who played Kilmoremoy (Kilmoremoy is the old name for an area that incorporates Ballina and Ardnaree, on either side of the River Moy). We had a great turnout with 26 players togging out. It was the first time playing for Ballinrobe for four players who had previously been involved with the Gaelic4Girls program. As with all our players they did the club proud. Thanks to Kilmoremoy who travelled a long way and played a great game. Our next U12 match is tomorrow Thurs 23th June 6:30pm Vs Knockmore in the COMMUNITY SCHOOL pitch, meet at the pitch at 6:10pm.  Please support the girls. A reminder to wear gum shields, but no jewellery, earrings or hair slides.  Also bring some form of a top for when not playing in the game as it gets quite windy up at the school pitch.   Ladies U12 training is moving to Mondays and Fridays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the Community School pitch. Ladies U10 training is on Wednesdays and Friday’s from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at Flanagan Park. Any player not wearing a gum shield will not be allowed to play in the practice matches at the end of training sessions. For safety reasons all players must be walked into the pitch and collected from there also.
