Erris St Patrick’s made a worthwhile visit to Flanagan Park, Ballinrobe, on Thursday evening, when defeating the home side by 11-9 to 3-6 in the first round of the county U14 championship (division 3, group B).

Erris St Patrick’s, very much in command outfield, led by 6-5 to 2-2 at half-time, with Cian O’Connell accounting for all of the Ballinrobe scores. There was little change in the pattern of exchanges after the action resumed and Erris St Patrick’s consolidated their position.

Ciaran Doherty, Dylan Walker, Brendan Conway, James Mullarkey, Finian Carolan and Stephen Grealish performed impressively for the victors. Cian O’Connell, Seamus Langan, Eoin Gilrane, Ewan Duffy and Luke Jennings were prominent for Ballinrobe.

Ballinrobe: C O’Connell 3-5, D Sweeney 0-1.

Referee: Garryowen McMahon.
