U12: Grading League Group 3 Match 1

By Ann Cannon, PRO, Ladies Football On Monday, 28th April, at Flanagan Park, Ballinrobe, our U12 Ladies played their first League game. It was a wonderful achievement by the club, its coaches, parents and the girls themselves to see Ballinrobe back participating in a Ladies League again.  We had 21 players tog out for the match. The girls played with great skill and determination and even if the result didn’t go our way, each and every player can be proud of their contribution. This Friday, 1st April, sees match two, away to Carnacon.  Meeting at Flanagan Park at 5:10pm. Please note that it is the policy of Ballinrobe GAA Club to have all children dropped off and picked up at the dressing rooms for both outdoor training and matches.  This is to ensure the safety of all our players. Children are not permitted to walk to car park on their own. As always, gumshields are mandatory.  Also, players cannot wear jewellery or hair slides.

Robe Rockets join St Patrick’s Day parade

By Annette Conway, PRO Robe Rockets Well done to our Robe Rockets, Ladies teams and Parents who represented Ballinrobe GAA Club in the St Patrick’s Day parade. A sea of maroon and yellow congregated at Crann Mor Centre not long after 3pm, accompanied by a full size Rocket and with players accessorized with club coloured tassels and the all important whistles the scene was set for a fun and noisy afternoon!! A most enjoyable afternoon was had by all and the parade provided an opportunity to highlight the success of our Robe Rocket section of the Club. Special word of thanks to Cara, Siobhan, Naoise, She Sha, Lizzy, Michael, Oran, Emer and Christy Transition Year students from Ballinrobe Community school who kindly built the rocket, Andy Walsh who organised the building of the rocket, to our parents who accompanied the children, our club coaches, Robe Rocket Committee members who organised and guided the group on the day and to Padraic Delaney who once again provided all players with lollipops after the parade.
