Our U12 skills team took part in the Connacht Skills Finals in the Connacht Centre of Excellence, Bekan, last night (Friday). They qualified as south Mayo champions, an achievement of which the club is rightly proud. They didn’t get into the prizes last night but performed extremely well. The team members were Darragh Sweeney, Adam Flannery, Conor O’Brien and Conor Cusack. Well done to all four, and to their coaches who continue to prioritise skill development among our young players.

Padraig played football against Ballinrobe on many occasions and we know that many of our players who knew him from those games are deeply saddened by his passing. Well done to our U21s who had a great win over Tourmakeady in the second round of the Mayo U21 B championship in Tourmakeady yesterday. Sean Shaughnessy was the hero of the hour when he saved a penalty from Aaron Conroy in what was to prove the last kick of the game. The final score was 1-10 to 0-10.
