Robe Rockets Training Starts

By Annette Conway, PRO Robe Rockets Robe Rockets first training sessions of 2018 start in the Lakeside Sports and Fitness Centre with our U10 Boys on Friday 16th February at 6.30pm to 7.45pm. Cost for Pella is €12 for the 6 weeks payable on Friday. *Pella Teams and matches to be confirmed by text during week* On Saturday 17th February we welcome our U6’s, the youngest members of the club at 9.15am to 10.15am followed by the U8’s from 10.30am to 11.30am. Cost is €2. Please wear runners, bring water and Gumshield. We look forward to seeing you all #Futureoftheclub

Operation Transformation Walks

  Our walks continued this week and we had great turnouts for both our Thursday and Saturday walks. Ballinrobe GAA club will be continuing with two walks per week as part of Operation Transformation. There will be a walk at 7pm on Thursday evening and another on Saturday morning at 11am. Both walks will begin in The Green and please be there 10 minutes before the walk begins. All are welcome, don’t worry if you haven’t been to any of the walks before you can join up at any time and its free.

Talk on Giving up Smoking

As part of our healthy club campaign Ballinrobe GAA would like to invite you to a talk with advice on how to Quit Smoking on Wednesday 31th January at 8pm in Tacu. The talk will be given by local pharmacist Declan Burke. The talk is open to everyone in the community and is free of charge.

Healthy Club – January 2018

By Declan O’Loughlin January 2018 will see Ballinrobe GAA club launch its first healthy club project. As part of this project we aim to get us all a little more active in 2018.  This will run in conjunction with the very popular RTE program Operation Transformation, and will start on the Saturday 13th January with a walk.  We will be holding two walks per week after that for five weeks. Walking is a fantastic way to keep active and maintain a healthy heart as it is fun, flexible and free. We will also be holding some talks on a range of health topics from – benefits of exercise, nutrition, quitting smoking and stress management.These talks and walks are open to all members of the Ballinrobe community and we will be publishing more details nearer the start date.

Intermediate Manager Appointed

At our Club Executive meeting last Tuesday, 5th December Donal Costello was ratified as our new Intermediate Club Manager for 2018. Donal “Mossy” will be joined by an experienced backroom team of Ruairí Keane, Paul Finnerty and James O’Malley.  We wish Donal, his Management Team and all adult players every success and all the very best for the new season ahead.
